Why Blog?
Well, someone recently started a discussion about relevance on the web. We had a short talk about it and from my own arguments I realised that I wasn't putting my savvy knowledge into pratice.
One of the most powerfull ways for google to learn about the relevance of a site/page/topic is by analyzing links. One of the most powerfull ways we, the people of the web, have to control this relevance is by creating those links.
And this is why I had to start my own blog. More than ever I realised that my opinion counts, when google starts counting links, I should have my favourite, most usefull sources linked and what better place to do this than a blog...
Why Pebble?
There were some requirements I had towards my blog.
- No database, I have my own personal vendetta against the use of databases
- Must be Java, I think Java is somewhat more elegant as a choice of webapplications, and I could hack it if I want since I know Java :)
- Semantic (x)html compliant results
And if that didn't do it, than there's this final small insignificant name issue. I'm a sucker for fate and poetry I suppose.
The reason I start this blog is to make my own little ripples in the pond. What does one throw into the pond to start the ripples? That's right, a Pebble.

What's coming?
Well, the next dish on the menu is a nice new topic, "Until html freezes over".
I want to help some of my server-side oriented colleagues to learn about some comon, but often overlooked, client-side issues. I'll be shadowing that effort on my own blog in english just so that the rest of the world can hopefully benefit from this effort as well...
